dreams
Storytelling while asleep About a billion years ago in college, I used experience every dream trope (false awakening, lucid dreaming, and just extremely vivid, movie-like dreams), along with sleep paralysis (which is kind of like dreaming, but youâre awake). Now I mostly have somewhat vivid dreams if Iâm lucky, and the most I can lucid dream is detect that Iâm in a dream or wake up on command, but canât control it or stay asleep. Dream Terminology False awakeningâ A dream where you wake upâŚbut youâre not actually awake. Youâre still dreaming and you dreamed you woke up. Bonus if youâre stuck in a false awakening loop. đ Lucid dreamingâ The ability to control your dreams and be aware that youâre dreaming. When I had this, I basically stopped having nightmares because I could control the outcome. Sleep paralysisâ Not really dream-related, but you feel like youâre dreaming. Sometimes you might wake up and realize you canât move or open your eyes. And YMMV on this, but a lot of people sense an evil or malevolent entity nearby. IIRC, this really isnât paranormal, but more psychological.
video games
I mostly play on the Switch (handheld gaming is really huge to me) and Windows PC. Sometimes Iâll download games for my phone, but I like playing on my Switch more. First video game was probably Super Mario 64. First console owned was the Gameboy Pocket. Favorite genre can range from shooters to RTS. I donât really play games on mobile devices, but I like to download point-and-click games for my phone when they are free for a short period of time.
music
It took me a reeeeally long time to figure out what music I like, and Iâve decided Iâm really into movie soundtrack-like music (called trailer music or epic music). Most of these arenât made by normal music artists. Theyâre from music production companies (folks who make stock music for movie trailers or commercials). A lot of whatâs listed here are either fast-paced and gritty or have a mystical/ethereal vibe (bonus points if all of the above), and 9/10 donât feature any lyrics (though they might have vocalizationsâpeople âahhhhhâ-ing for parts of the song).
